Pitch Music & Arts feels immense privilege in supporting the Djab Wurrung and Eastern Maar Peoples, Traditional Custodians of the land in Moyston, where our festival takes place. To start our seventh instalment, a Welcome to Country, alongside a dance performance and smoking ceremony, will be held.
Historically, a Welcome to Country was a rite of passage for any Aboriginal/and or Torres Strait Islander person or group wishing to enter a nation that was not their own. First and foremost a Welcome to Country gave permission from the host nation to the visitor. Such permission had to be sought out a long time in advance and would require a lengthy negotiation process. The details of the ceremonial event of a Welcome to Country differs from nation to nation. Primarily however, regardless of if it was done as a speech, dance, smoking ceremony or all of the above; the ceremony was a source of information, used to show visitors safe and unsafe areas to travel and explain laws and customs they must follow whilst they are visiting.
We ask everyone to join us for this important ceremony, recognising its deep significance and paying respect to the Traditional Owners of the land. By attending, you acknowledge that Gariwerd (The Grampians), Moyston, and the entire Australian continent are, and will always be, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.surrounding landscapes and the entire Australian continent always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.
Pitch One has established itself as a platform for esteemed local and international musical pioneers to showcase their creative visions, supported by state of the art sound design. Throughout the history of Pitch, an architectural motif underpins Pitch One’s design philosophy, serving as home to some of our most esteemed headliners. This year, it will mature in design, offering a bigger and bolder form.
Following an incredible reception at Pitch 2024, we can also confirm that the RA Stage’s red orb will be making an encore. A fixture since our first edition, and guided by global editorial music platform Resident Advisor since 2019, this stage has played host to the LIVE sets of Pitch, allowing these acts to inform its design ethos year on year. Paired with immense lighting design and projection mapping, the RA stage invites you into an experience that will be hard to forget.
Pavilion expands into a cutting-edge narrative, a hybrid habitat designed to explore and interact with tangible artworks, unwind with contemporary performances, and immerse in sonic landscapes and visual works. From ambient DJ sets to playful wellbeing workshops, talks, and mindful activities, this otherworldly sanctuary offers a unique space for restoration and inspiration.
Presented as UnitePlayPerform Universe, Pavilion is curated and produced by the visionary artist, founder, and educator ØFFËRÎNGŠ aka Melissa Gilbert.
A space crafted for the community, celebrating the energy, inclusivity and creativity of local talent. Step away from the intensity of the main arena, recharge, and immerse yourself in the heartbeat of the underground. Collectives, labels, and parties such as Bex, Hannah D, Toni Yotzi, House of Silky, Mind Detergent, Vessel, Chuleo Club and Skylab Radio come together bringing rhythms and basslines that flow like the long, rolling hills of the Serra Range in The Grampians—expansive and ever-evolving.
Famous for its iconic cage-like scaffold design in 2019, the Pitch Black stage continues to solidify an identity through many forms over eight iterations, from multi-level frameworks to a dystopian compound. Fostering a space for sonic discovery, this stage also offers the best view of the Grampians at sunset. In 2025, the Pitch Black stage will return with a complete redesign, honouring its underground roots.
Hidden amongst the campgrounds, discover a hub away from the main arena offering a moment of pause. Designed by Kayzar and hosted by some of the country’s most dynamic and forward-thinking crews and collectives, the Precinct will be open across all four days. Expect takeovers from Animalia, Urban Analytics, Kiki Bouba and Luna Blessings. Home to eclectic music styles, this space will offer a safe space to connect with new and old friends alike
Encounter a sense of continuity throughout the Pitch Music & Arts site through lighting, designed by the Pitch creative team. Let the lighting lead you to unexpected experiences, or simply take a moment to rest under beauty.
